karen + riley + tyler + gus

Throwing it back to one of my very first family sessions with my dear friend Karen. We headed to Lawencetown beach that day - Karen’s happy place that she frequents often, both alone and with the kids. It was a special place for her which I loved. It would make the photos all the more special! I was excited to capture some fun memories for her. We walked through the long grass following a trail that eventually led to the beach. It was a foggy day, and not particularly warm, but plop a couple of kids by the water and like a moth to a flame they want to be in it. I loved how Karen didn’t care if the boys got their nice outfits “messed up” by getting soaked. She let them go for it. And boy, did they go for it. They ran through the water and let the waves splash over them, Karen even joined them. They played with their puppy Gus and threw seeded at each other. They. Were. Kids. I loved capturing them in their element, playing together as a family. We all had a ball! Even though these images are a few years old and i’ve improved technically I still absolutely love these images.
